What does it mean to be fit and fulfilled? Well, that depends on you!
Everyone has a different idea of what being fit and being fulfilled mean. Google describes “Fit” as follows:
adjective
1.of a suitable quality, standard, or type to meet the required purpose
2.in good health, especially because of regular physical exercise.
Verb
1.be of the right shape and size for.
2.fix or put (something) into place.
Noun:
1.the particular way in which something, especially a garment or component, fits around or into something.
“the dress was a perfect fit”
To be fulfilled is defined:
adjective: satisfied or happy because of fully developing one’s abilities or character.
How you become fulfilled depends on what fulfills you. Fitness and fulfillment are a journey and take time to accomplish.
When I think of being fit this comes to my mind:
And when I think of fulfillment: an image of my kids running around and laughing while my feet are up by a campfire and I am reading a good book, or strolling on the beach looking for our favorite spiral shells! Bills are paid and phone is off!
However, being fit could be mental, physical, emotional or spiritual. Or, it could be all of these things. We will look at them all and how we can incorporate a little of each to have holistic fitness and fulfillment.
You may be thinking, this is not gonna happen. I am tired. I am too busy. I have too many responsibilities. I owe too much money. I get it! I had all of those thoughts as well. Until, one day, I sat down with a notebook or journal and a pen and wrote some thoughts… (I encourage you to do the same)
- What am I feeling today?
- What has happened in my life recently that has affected me? (both positive and negative)
- Am I happy?
- What would help me be happy?
- What are my stresses?
- Find a scripture that incorporates any of the described feelings. ( I try to include script because the ultimate “How To” book is scripture) You can easily google scripture with your thought as a keyword.
Lets start with this! Sometimes just putting things on paper can be freeing. It can also be stressful because a lot of thoughts and feelings that may have been suppressed finally become real. It is OK! In order to find freedom and clarity, you have to recognize what is holding you back.
You are capable of finding fulfillment. You just have to start!
